Here we go gathering nuts in May...

Hastings was a mass of green this weekend - oak, bay, ivy and hawthorn branches were hung from anything that stood still for a second - as it prepared for the arrival of Jack in the Green and the release of the spirit of summer.

Morris dancers, may polers and some just downright nutters thronged the streets of the Old Town for the procession which, finally, wound its way up to the Castle. With green ribbons in our hair, Mum and I went on a snap-the-greenest-person challenge and here are some of my 'nuts in May'. You've got to love them and hope that they have a nice bar of soap to wash it all off before they go back to be accountants tomorrow morning!
